The whole tourist industry especially in Slovenia, in other EU big towns historic places, even by the sea side is based on majority of tourists visiting for 1 or 2 days. 3 days looks as a decent stay. 4 days are a small number of exceptions, 5 days are a miracle, 7 or 8 days are a sighting of Madonna or any Saint!
It was staggering, as Somebodies, when they decide to travel, stay for 3,4 5, 6 7, not Days, Weeks! Spending even less than this non persons all equal regardless of sex, religion, and wealth.
THE INTERMEDIATE CONCLUSION
The hordes of the new generations up to 40 years are traveling, not by bus or by train in this specific cases, but by car and maybe sometimes by overloaded public transport in the maddening heat. For a day or two here, day there two days somewhere. A crapification of the landscape and places. Cues for the shit food, since no one has the time to do things properly. In any sense of hospitality.
So , many places which boast the number of nights the tourist spent there are boasting about a disaster.
THE QUESTION OF GENTRIFICATION
As we can see, this pattern makes the local people , local arts and crafts, shops and all, disappear.
But, dear route 66 followers there is a simple remedy to all this nightmare. Because for the people living in this tourist places this is a nightmare of smells , sounds, big crowds making selfies on the planned specific BRANDED spots (on this later).
The remedy is: to prevent the declining and dying out of the specifics with all of its local flavors of a place, to prevent this place to be a non place with branded spots for the social media snapshot on a shitphone, the cure is not prohibiting the renting platforms operating there. It is more simple. It is Prohibiting the stays shorter than 3 days , Stays for less than 3 days can be done only in the hotels and pensions and not in private renting. Suddenly 70% of the crowds will disappear. The place will become normal again. By the way, visiting Rome , Venice or anything for a day or two is sheer madness. When Somebodies went to visit Rome, 2 WEEKS were not enough to barely see a small fraction of the major things to be seen! 6 days in Venice was a joke, so Somebodies had to return again and again, not for a day or two,. But the new generation jerks are invincible, they really like to talk green.
APARTMENT – THE NON PLACE FOR NON PERSONS
Folks, let get our kicks on the IQ Route 66.
The interior designers, maximizing profits, have spread the non lieu, non place into the homes. Mostly from Slovenia (Greece too) and to the whole north Europe, giving it the calvinist protestant twist of fake modesty of nothing. Especially the Owners of the tourist apartments understood the vibe. To minimize the costs they simplified to maximum the furnishing. Much less costs for cleaning and containing the cost of possible damage by the lively smartshit guests. So, white painted walls, easier to retouch, some gray white or maybe fake simil leather black plastic couches or black fake leather armchairs to give the place this chic non place look. The furniture is basically same, divided in about 3 classess of cost and finish,same looks, same thousands of kilometers of the same furnished furniture filling the apartments all over the Mediterranean. Same layout same all same.
Now, lets talk about the Owner; he is very watchful not to show the level of his own taste, so he restrains giving any sign of his own personality in furnishing the apartment. He restrains to the maximum. Because the show of his taste might be and is dangerous for the business! The tourists very likely might not book. Yes IQ route 66, we are talking to the final race to the bottom. Even some local prints of the local scenery hanging as pictures on the wall are banned and missing, No watercolor paintings, no paintings, even the framing of the photos from some good calendars are dangerous. So we can see empty shelves, even a flower vase is missing or by chance it is the only non edible object in the room.
Even the local ethnic touch is banned from the non place interior design. The non statement no opinion design of the cities, and in this case flats which promotes the fake non conflicting environment trained on the industrial platform of living are existing together in a way that does not cause problems.
