Even the agro politics economy. And that he and Witchlady inherited from her parents the organic garden in which they work now when it is needed, which is maybe a hobby but what do you call over 300 onions already planted half white for eating with salads and half yellow for winter, 130 red garlic bulbs and all other veggies coming soon, salads , tomatoes zucchini, etc, etc, not forgeting the basil in big numbers for the lovely pesto spaghetti…
Well, decades ago, at the agro university, WD came to know, the , at that time, young Chemical Brothers cargo cult, stepping widely into the agro business. He disliked them at the first sight, the others cheered them. There remain Now from TWO to FOUR world players in seeds, wheat ,GMO, pesticides, fertilizers, etc. The Lebensraum is the core factor of growing and managing the so called food and is already only in a few hands, which made for this Chemical Brothers their lebensraum1 out of food..
The debt driven economy and the monopolies , the capital concentration as a logical consequence have taken it ALL . The farmers are only factory workers working maybe their own property, but EVERYTHING else is not theirs and they have only to follow the protocols of the Chemical Brothers. Like any factory assembling plant. Everything is a private property of somebody else and the whole production chain, from modified or at the best hybrid seeds to fertilizers and pesticides is somebody else business and it is all linked ,so you have to work within this CAGE of the tightly knot chain of agro methodology of the Chemichal Brothers.
The European commission very possibly fake attempt to steer the agro business into more “green” pastures has logically failed. The farmers are TRAPPED between the overall costs and regulations they CAN NOT abide to , if not they are out of the market, and the constraint of the purchase power of the idiot massess with income at disposal for only junk buying, and the competition from outside EU Corporate Agro Business which is selling dubius stuff or even using illegal pesticides and even using the cancer Glyphosate for drying the wheat or other produce, so it never rots, which is not only dangerous for your health, it is your cancer coming…
So: if the EU said the farms must leave a tiny 4% if the arable land for biodiversity,which – the 4% is a biodiversity joke, in this squeeze of the neoliberal economy, this 4% is exactly the percent which is the farmers profit after all costs deduced! So, if the farmers want to get out from the cost/price squeeze, they have to spray more pesticides. If the cost of the pesticides still allows a profit margin of growing little more food, this 5 or 10% more made by spraying to the max means a decent living! Yes, bees and butterflies, birds and all other are dead, but this is making MONEY!
And VOILA’ the EU has lifted the limit in reducing pesticides! The Farmers, poor idiots, are chanting victory, which by the nature of the agro business is only their death and bankruptcy. Over a certain limit, using more fertilizers or pesticides has the opposite effect of falling yield of crops and leads to more indebteness and bankruptcy.
Do they need to rotate crops? YES. But, who will pay for rotating crops as the syncro timing gets wrong and suddenly all will do legumes- peas and beans, and the wheat will skyrocket while legumes will be thrown away. Not to mention the 4 tact crops rotation which at the end means that ONE Fourth of the land has to stay still each year. This never happens and so the soil loses all humus and never gets a minimum of decent rest. You can not plant onions or garlic on the same plot for four years, if not, you have to really call on a mass attack of Your Chemical Brothers to get some result! Cucumbers, more than 2 years, or the crop is a lousy one. ¼ crop Rotation means that a Quarter of land is put to standstill and this means 25% less income and this is, in the squeeze the farmers live in, a certain default!
So, a lousy 4% of land put to rest is a joke. Lebensraum1. A 5% of more crops means tons of pesticides more, GMO, roundup, etc.

Since all this is not enough for maximizing profit in a few hands, the Genetic Engeneering kicks in. Everything will be genetically modified and bye bye diversity of any type. Already the natural bio diversity is gone, soon there will be gone the food one.

The fights between the EU members on each occasion of approval of the agro budget within the EU will be a distant past. Meanwhile the former eastern block with the Ukrainian leading role in big farming for the west european populace needs much less subsidies since the farmers there have been historically slaves under different regimes and after, in the communist regime they have been trained perfectly to obey and suffer and enduire the rule and not be now today such lazy sods to ask for State help as the western farmers do. They are used to work for peanuts as a good monkey has to,and if, by chance, they will get some extra peanuts, they will be yours truly for ever.
