Quote: ” I have an “impossibility theorem” for the global economy that is like that. It says that democracy, national sovereignty and global economic integration are mutually incompatible: we can combine any two of the three, but never have all three simultaneously and in full.”
So, Globalization, Sovereign State and Democracy are mutually incompatible.
Hong kong is the proof of trilemma. Democracy was sold to globalization, and who else if not the globalization neighbor- China has done it. The State which proves that democracy is not an issue in global trade. And the same think all his Trading partners, the Brain Dead West included.
But there is more. Even the Sovereign State was sold to globalization.
The State, as Witchdoctor writes here for ages now is not a sovereign any more, it is just a legal framework for the globalization process and
Has no root in sovereignty principle. The State is a legal framework for the Global Portfolio Capital.
The current situation is that democracy is just a local Zoo for the Brain Dead West and has no real reform function whatsoever.The dictatorships of all kinds have encircled the West and the West gladly trades with them. The projection is clear. The democracy is now just a Zoo, and after it will be gone.
The Globalization has got rid of democracy. The State is only a local debt producer which, the debt, is the asset for the Portfolio Capital.
The result is, as in former trilogy, that local Capital Formation is in steep decline, and that real Capitalism grounded in the local jurisdiction is dissipated. The globalized Portfolio Capital is the new asset collector and is not a classic Formation Capital operator.
So, Hong kong is the proof of the Dani Rodrik Trilemma, which is not one factor mutually incompatible, but is a two factor mutually incompatible.
The Value, Cost, Price and Profit of Democracy.
The current neoliberal model has never used the same, value, cost, price and profit parameters for democracy as for the overall production, money creation and debt parameters..
Democracy in this economic global model has no value, cost, price and profit.
In fact there is only one way out to preserve the democracy.
The Custom Tax for added value, cost, price and profit of democracy.
If Witchdoctor were a State, he would do it in this way. OK, WD will trade and make exchange with anyone, but here is the Custom Tax list:
Democracy and freedom of assembly and opinion:
40 % Custom tax on any goods from a country which do not respect the value of democracy.
30% Custom Tax on torture, death penalty, imprisonment and police violence on behalf of a trade partner.
30% Custom tax on lack of social health pension schemes of the trade partner and child labor.
35 % Custom tax on non equal gender (whatever) opportunity and pay of the trade partner.
35% Custom tax on pollution , pesticides and similar deadly obnoxious production
The percentages may vary regarding the criteria of fulfillment.
AND so ON.
This rules can not be a breach of the free trade. If they are a breach , then there is no Trilemma, we are in the global dictatorship already.
If democracy has no value, cost, price and profit in the trade relations , then, we will loose it asap.
In fact, the end of capital formation, the end of capitalism, as in the previous posts is the sign of the end of democracy. The portfolio capital is not capitalism in the classic sense, it is a global ,financial, asset collector of monopoly Ponzi scheme of local exploitation of the last drops.. And as WD wrote months ago, at the beginning of the covid 19, it is the Portfolio Capital and the Corporations which have unlimited access to the Central Banks free money who will buy all and concentrate the Portfolio Capital in their hands, while the others will default.
Ok, you can still call it capitalism , but then we have a methodological mess forever. Which is a prefect ground for manipulation.
