Every picture tells a story. The SpaceTime curvature or bending, as it is pictured today, is bad.From the bad pictures one often gets bad results. So, a Ball bending the net which is Space Time, is a bad picture. 2 Dimensions of the net and 3 D of the ball do not get any D as the proper answer. OK, it is good for a start, for do not know who`s capabilities, but it is bad.
Wikipedia and similar could do better.
Lest start.
The SpaceTime is not bending under the Ball, it is Wrapping it while bending. 360 Degrees. SpaceTime gets “distorted”around the ball from its “usual” fabric . First ,we have two options; the Space Time around the ball can be dilated, expanded , or it can be compressed. Deformation is the same phenomena for both. Now, the current view and, as the Universe is expanding, is that the SpaceTime around the ball is not compressing the spacetime near the ball since compression will happen in a closed system, but it is dilating it.If compressed, in the Spacetime with bigger density the events would be faster than in the surrounding spacetime out of the “bubble”, and vice versa,it would be slower in the dilated bubble. Forever young!
WD opts and so it goes for the dilating effect, it is beautiful, the other, compressing, is ugly.Ugly mattress.
The Ball has a SpaceTime Bubble around it with the definite boundary which cuts off two spacetimes or the bending fades at the distance to the surrounding “standard” SpaceTime?
If there is a bubble with definite boundary, then the outer spacetime is coming at the bubble boundary at the 90 degrees right angle on all the surface, 360 degrees. This would cause a bubble boundary to have N points where two spacetimes meet at the singularity point all around the bubble and the events in such case would have to perform spacetime “jumps”, when incoming or outcoming to and from the bubble.. This is ugly. Or a quantum proof at a big scale? Hmm, ugly, anyway.
So, the wrapping of the spacetime around the ball slowly fades in the “standard” spacetime around it. Now, we know that light bends- follows the ball bending space- (Michelson & Morley, etc) when hitting the ball own spacetime. If the spacetime around the ball is slowly fading away, then the bending angles should be different , depending on the distance from the ball where the light comes. On the outer reach of the ball spacetime, the light ray should be already a straight line. This is beautiful.
As for the Light, see the thermal spacetime post.and the conductivity factor which constraints the light to have a defined speed. Even if Rupert Sheldrake is right, ie, that the speed of light oscillates, it is the conductivity factor of the spacetime that constrains it-.
Dear me,since all readers have already left and this is just a private mumbling as a memo for and before the departure, behind this phenomena there is gravity and mass which provoke the “bending” of the spacetime.
What is Gravity? Is it the attribute of mass? Yes. But one has to turn it around. Is the mass a threshold of gravity, where things start to stick and glue? Gravity has a ”threshold” called mass. But what about Higgs?
Egg or/ and chicken question…Definitely.And thus anything goes..
Can we calculate the fading of the ball spacetime with some coefficient which involves the mass, gravity ? Yes.hm.Planck style.
Headwinds
Now, lets speculate and throw the ball at very high speed , almost the speed of light.
Since dilation is the way, the ball will have at the high speed the headwind as a dilated spacetime. In front of the ball, the spacetime will dilate in a fading cone. WD will call it a tunneling spacetime effect of the spacetime of the ball.
Certainly one thing happens. The 2nd law of thermodynamics with the dilated “headwind”, where the spacetime coordinates are not constricted,and so the entropy is impossible, is gone to trash.Again.
The light….. a quantum entangled spacetime event with the “headwind”.
Where the mass of the “massless” photon is impossible to calculate and measure, since it is entangled in /with the dilated spacetime.,.,. going in packets, entangled with his own spacetime. And constrained by the conductivity factor of the thermal space time… but always fast and steady fast, too. Entangled in the dilated spacetime, tunneling of his own. Beautiful.
Rotating…
If the ball gains faster and faster rotation, then things change and boom… and bust, one gets back the 2nd law and gravity bending waves through the spacetime
